National and International Vocalists' Competitions prize-winner.

 

·        First prize recipient at the National A.Stirchea Opera Singers’ Competition

(Moldova, Chisinau, 1995 ).

·        Diploma of Honored  recipient at the H.Darclee International Competition

(Romania, Braila, 1999).

·        Scholarship of the Central and Eastern European Musiktheaters (Austria,Vienna,2004-2005).

  Zarui Vardanean was born in Moldavian town Balti where she graduated musical college as a chorus conductor after leadership of V.Kochkareva.

She graduated the Moldavian State Academy of Music by G.Muzichescu as a chorus conductor after leadership of V.Muntean and E.Enake in 1991.

Her education as an opera singer she acquired in the Moldavian State Academy of Music by G.Muzichescu after leadership of V.Slusarevsky and debuted as "Ulrica” in "Un Ballo di Maschera” by G.Verdi at the National Opera and Ballet Theatre (Republic of Moldova) in1998.

  After she debuted on the stage of the National Opera and Ballet Theatre (Chisinau) in opera "Un Ballo di Maschera” Zarui Vardanean performed  series of various roles in such famous operas as "Carmen” ,”Aida” ,”Il Trovatore”, ”Norma”, ”Nabucco”, ”Madama Batterfly” and  others.

She performs on the leading stages of Romania ( Bucharest,”Asucena”)conducted by I.Florea,(Cluj-Napoca "Carmen”) conducted by A.Saura (Spain), ( Constanta, "Asucena” ”Fenena”) Conducted by G.Stanciu.

Solo concert in Bucharest 2004 after patronage of famous Romanian baritone D.Ohanesean and archbishop Z.Baronean brought to Zarui a broad recognition by the Romanian audience. The following joint Romano-Moldavian project, where she took part, after leadership of famous Romanian conductor I.Iancu with operas "Rigoletto” and "Figaro’s wedding” successfully toured about the Netherlands.

She obtained  a scholarship from Central and Eastern European Muziktheaters association Austria, Vienna in 2004 and 2005.At the Master-classes organized by this association in Heiligenkreus (Austria)  Zarui met world-famous, prominent opera singer I.Cotrubas. The collaboration and classes with whom became crucial for Zarui and helped to advance her art.

Since 2006 Zarui is collaborating with leading English Opera and Ballet International company and performs in such operas as "Die Fledermaus”, ”Madama Baterfly”, ”Aida”, ”Carmen” on the leading stages of Britain and Ireland.

She often performs at the International Festival "Va Invita M.Biesu” here should be mentioned such performances as:

  *   "Un Ballo di Maschera” with famous Italian baritone M.Augustini and M.Muntean tenor Peoples`artist Rep. of Moldova, Tatiana Anisimova Honored Artist Ukraine conducted by E.Siffert (Great Britain), I.Iancu, G.Stanciu ( Romania) from 2000 to 2010.

 *   "Queen of Spades” with prominent masters such as I.Bogachiova (Russia) and A.Samoila (Turkey)

*   "Adriana Lecouvrer” with the Prim Donna of the National Opera and Ballet Theatre (Chisinau) M.Biesu conducted by V.Dumanescu ( Romania )  and "Dido and Aeneus” conducted by N.Dohotaru (head conductor of the National Moldavian Opera and Ballet House).

* The brightest event was the 35th. Anniversary of the world-famous competition of opera singers "Madama Batterfly” where Zarui performed part of "Suzuki” with such eminent singers as M.Biesu (first prize winner of the first edition of the competition) and V.Piavko (Bolshoi Theatre, Russia) conducted by A.Samoila. (The head conductor of the National Opera and Ballet Odessa)

  The collaboration with the ensemble of Russian Popular Instruments "Lad” conducted by V.Rahmanov developed into the striking concert at the National Organ’s Music Hall (Chisinau, 2004) where Zarui fully discovered the beauty of Russian romances and folk songs to the Moldavian audience that took part in limits of the "Days of Russian Culture Festival " in Chisinau, Moldova. Among the achievements of 2007-2008 season became "Carmen” in limits of the 8th International Festival of Performance Art "Bitei”, organized by "E.Ionescu” theatre and tour with the National Moldavian Opera about Germany with "Aida” and "Carmen”.

At the beginning of 2010 she participated in the Moldavian - Portugal an production of the opera Bizet Carmen conducted by R.Luther (USA) and M.Agafita (Moldova, Romania )

In June 2010 she performs a chamber music recital with program consists of Lieder of such romantic composers as  R.Schumann, F.Schubert, J.Brahms, E.Grieg, G.Mahler, R.Strauss ... in the National Philharmonic  "S.Lunchevici" .

The culmination of the season 2010 was the new production of "Tsar`s bride " in the National Opera and Ballet Theatre Rep. of Moldova where Zarui Vardanean performed as Liubasha

The bright events of 2011th were Zarui Vardanean`s first performance participation in cantata " Alexander Nevsky" by S.Prokofiev which took place in the frame of " Martishor-2011" International Festival and also Moldovan - German Project organized by Ministry of Culture Rep. of Moldova, German Embassy, Goethe University and National Philharmonic S.Lunchevici where she took part in Requiem by Verdi under the leadership of Patrick Strub (Germany).

In October 2011 Zarui Vardanean was invited for "Crizantema de Aur" International Festival of romances in Romania with solo program of Russian romances and songs.

2012 began with collaboration with the Romanian National Opera and Ballet. In March Zarui sang in the opera Carmen by Bizet at the National Opera of Bucharest.

At the end of May she sang Asucena in Verdi's opera IL Trovatore. In late June, with the triumph of Verdi's Aida was the performance where Zarui sang Amneris at the National Opera and Ballet Theater of Constanta O.Dranovsky

At the end of March 2012 Zarui sang alto in the Brahms Rhapsody with orchestra and male chorus of the National Philharmonic S.Lunkevichi.

2012 Zarui Vardanean completed a concert tour " Ave Maria” in Netherlands and Belgium as part of the National Philharmonic of Banat, Timisoara (Romania) conducted by R.Janssen ( Netherlands )

From 10 to 15 July 2013 Zarui Vardanean participated in the International Festival "Opera Nights” ( Hunedoara , Transylvania), where she  sang Asucena in Verdi's Il Trovatore and took part in a Gala Concert.

Zarui Vardanean often participate in concerts with such famous teams as the National Moldavian Opera and Ballet House orchestra, Chisinau National Philharmonic orchestra, National Chamber orchestra Republic of Moldova and National orchestra of Television and Radio Moldova.

  Her concert repertoire consists of mezzo-soprano parts of "Requiem” by (Verdi, Mozart) "C-Dur Messa” by (Mozart),”Stabat Mater” by (Dvorak),”9th Symphony” by (Beethoven) and also of such vocal cycles as ”Five Poems of  Mathilde  Wesendonk” by (Wagner) ,”From Jewish Folk Poetry” by (Shostakovich) ,”Seven Spanish Folk Songs” by (M.De Faglia), ”Songs about dead children” by (G. Mahler). In her concert programs Zarui includes romances and songs of Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, Debussy, Ravel, Mahler and others.

Zarui Vardanean often tours about West Europe with the National Moldavian Opera and solo with the concert programs.
